What Ever Happened to Ectoplasm?
By Mary Rose Bennington

Ectoplasm is a most elusive substance that is produced through certain types of physical mediums. Spirit can exude ectoplasm from the body of the medium and, through the power of directed thought, can mold it to create a most wondrous range of manifestations.

Nandor Fodor describes ectoplasm as "A mysterious protoplasmic substance streaming out of the body of mediums by the manipulation of which, either by the subconscious self or by discarnate intelligences, phenomena of a super-physical order, including partial and complete materializations, are produced."

During the last half of the nineteenth and first part of the twentieth centuries, ectoplasm flowed through mediums profusely. Then, it began slowly to disappear, and there are many reasons for this. Currently, we are seeing a resurgence of physical mediumship, with ectoplasm manifesting in a form different from that of the past; and there are reasons for this as well.

This lecture, given by Mary Rose Bennington at London's Society for Psychical Research, explores ectoplasm and why we saw a decline in its appearance. It will cause you to think. This lecture is a must for anyone interested in physical mediumship and phenomena.
